His ten-year survey (at age 31!) at the Brooklyn Museum may be thick with his signature Dandies-in-Wonderland, but at Lehmann Maupin Gallery on the Lower East Side, Hernan Bas is showing the new stuff: large paintings that reference avant-garde theater and veer closely to full-out abstraction.
